UZDP-103 arc fault protection devices with rated currents from 25 to 63 A

The Russian company Systeme Electric has added to the series of Dekraft UZDP-103 equipment with a breaking capacity of 6 kA, which provides three types of protection (against arc fault, overcurrent and short circuit) with an accurate visual determination of the cause of operation

The new products are available in modifications with a rated current from 25 to 63 A, have an operating voltage of 230 V, a number of poles of 2P and a tripping curve C. It is worth noting that each ultrasonic fault protection device is compatible with accessories of circuit breakers of the VA-105 series, which simplifies the selection of components and reduces the number of spare parts in stock.

The extended series of UZDP-103 includes protection devices that differ in the value of the rated current of 25, 32, 40, 50 and 63 A. These devices are designed to prevent arc breakdown (parallel/series) that occurs due to violation of conductor insulation, which creates a risk of fire. In addition, they provide protection against short circuits and overloads. The choice of model depends on the number of connected electrical appliances (consumers) and the level of fire hazard of a particular room, while each ultrasonic fault protection device is designed to operate in single-phase networks and can be used in distribution, metering and distribution, telecommunication boards, etc.

Structurally, the new devices of the UZDP-103 consist of a circuit breaker and an electronic arc recognition module. At the same time, the circuit breaker is equipped with thermal and electromagnetic elements that provide shutdown in case of overloads and short circuits, as well as an electric arc extinguishing mechanism. The electronic unit with a microcontroller constantly analyzes the frequency spectrum of the current passing in the operating circuit, and when parts of the spectrum characteristic of sparking are detected, the microcontroller initiates the process of shutting down the circuit breaker. In case of excessive loads or short-circuits in the protected section of the circuit, the ultrasonic fault protection device uses the free release mechanism.

Accurate determination of the cause of operation of the UZDP-103 device - by overcurrent or short circuit or by arc breakdown - is possible thanks to the implementation of a separate indication system for the type of accident. An indicator window that clearly shows the status of the contacts (short or open), regardless of the position of the control handle, further increases operational safety. Also, the ultrasonic fault protection device is equipped with the function of opening both poles, which prevents the risk of malfunctions in case of incorrect installation, and you can check the performance of the device yourself using a special "TEST" button on the body of the product.

The UZDP-103 series devices operate stably in the temperature range from -35 to +70 °C, and their housings are made of fire-resistant plastic and meet the IP20 standard. At the same time, each ultrasonic fault protection device has a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. To expand the functionality of the device, the devices support such options as an independent trip, additional contact and signal contact of the ND-105, DK-105 and SK-105 series, respectively, which are unified with accessories for Dekraft circuit breakers of the VA-105 product line. This simplifies the installation of SPDs and reduces the number of spare parts in the service warehouse.
