A new software product – the Timex VS IP video surveillance system module – has been added to the Timex ISS from Smartec.
Timex VS software can be used to build a video surveillance subsystem within the Timex unified security system management platform or to create an independent single-server IP video system with its own client applications for working with video. The Timex VS module is a cross-platform solution for installation on a PC with Microsoft® Windows® and Astra® Linux operating systems. Functionality includes support for virtually any IP camera, analytics metadata, events, video recording, viewing and export functions, etc. The free version of Timex Free software allows you to build an entry-level video surveillance system based on Timex VS.
The emergence of the Timex VS software module has allowed the Timex portfolio to expand and provide users with a full range of products within the integrated security system. Using this software as part of the ISS or independently provides the opportunity to obtain a functional and cost-effective solution (due to the low price per channel) for various objects.
The Timex VS software module is designed to build a single-server video surveillance system for up to 48 channels per server with an unlimited number of free native clients for Timex VS ARM and users with delimitation of authority. Client workstations can be multi-monitor, which expands the capabilities of working with video. Supporting work on MS Windows and Astra Linux operating systems (both in the server and client parts), Timex VS software provides users with identical functionality and the same interface, which may be relevant in modern realities with a gradual transition to domestically developed software to achieve import independence.
The free version of Timex Free is suitable not only for familiarization with the ISB, but also for full use of its capabilities. Along with access control functions, OPS, etc., Timex Free allows you to connect an IP video surveillance system based on one NVR and up to 8 IP cameras. The system can be expanded to 48 channels by switching to the paid version of Timex Base using additional licenses for 1 video channel (Timex VS-1) or 10 channels (Timex VS-10), and then by increasing the number of NVR servers.
Timex VS can be used as a standalone small/medium-sized video surveillance system based on a single Timex VS NVR video recording server with its own interface for remote administration/viewing, or as a component of a single integrated Timex solution. Flexible licensing policy allows you to expand the video surveillance system as needed, increasing the number of video channels or servers. The Timex integrated security system can have several Timex VS NVR servers. Although each video surveillance subsystem will be independent, the ISS has the ability to access them from a single system interface.
In a comprehensive solution, Timex VS software can be used in the Timex interface as an access control and management system (ACMS) or a security alarm, including for communication with events of these subsystems, verification of events, etc. Joint use of the capabilities of the subsystems within the ISS significantly increases security at the facility. The main functionality of Timex VS provides the ability to view live and recorded video from IP cameras of the video surveillance system, control their PTZ functions, collect and manage events, control display modes, export video data and events.
Among the advantages of Timex VS is its readiness to work with almost any IP video surveillance cameras. Cameras are connected via ONVIF or via an RTSP request. Timex VS software supports metadata from IP cameras: based on analytical information from the camera, the system generates events, allowing you to automate reactions in the system, such as turning on recording, closing relay outputs, notifying the operator, etc. There is also the ability to work with additional text data from external systems (Text/POS), overlaying them on video (Timex VS SDK license).
