ARMO-Systems Unveils New Smartec ST-DB210MDT Electromechanical Lock for Mortise Installation

It belongs to the group of normally open locking devices and is suitable for those doors where it is necessary to provide free passage in the event of an emergency power outage. This electromechanical solenoid door lock is designed to operate in a temperature range of -10 to +55 °C and is equipped with a freely rotating cylindrical stainless steel bolt that is resistant to sawing. In addition, the ST-DB210MDT is powered by a 12 V DC power source and has a magnetic contact sensor and a locking delay timer.

Structurally, the ST-DB210MDT electromechanical lock is normally open (BUT), i.e. when the power is turned off, it switches to an open state, providing free passage through the door. As a rule, such models are installed on doors, through which, in the event of an emergency (for example, a fire), it is necessary to quickly and unhindered evacuate people. Also, an electromechanical solenoid lock of the NO type is used on the entrance doors to entrances and other public areas, where in the event of a power outage, it is necessary to provide free access for residents and emergency services.

The ST-DB210MDT lock status is controlled as part of access control systems using the ACS controller relay, which supplys/removes the supply voltage. In order for the system to have information about the current state of the access point, the electromechanical solenoid lock constantly monitors the position of the door leaf using a magnetic contact sensor connected to the monitoring output, through which a signal is sent to the controller. In addition to this, the ST-DB210MDT has a separate relay output for monitoring the position of the deadbolt to prevent abnormal situations, such as when the door is closed but the lock is not locked.

The ST-DB210MDT's resistance to mechanical burglary is ensured by a one-piece cylindrical stainless steel deadbolt with a diameter of 13 mm. At the same time, the presence of a locking delay timer prevents damage to the lock or door leaf due to premature exit of the deadbolt. After the closing signal is given (e.g. from the intercom, exit button or access control system), the timer starts counting down the pre-set delay time (3 or 6 seconds), after which the deadbolt is extended and the door is locked.

The ST-DB210MDT solenoid lock is suitable for any type of door: inward or outward, as well as pendulum. The operating temperature range of the lock is from -10 to +55 °C, so it is recommended to install it exclusively indoors. Mortise installations, when the mechanism is hidden inside the door leaf, complicate unauthorized access to it and increase the aesthetics of the door structure. In addition, the ST-DB210MDT lock is characterized by relatively low energy consumption and low heat generation, and is powered by a DC source with a voltage of 12 V.
