TFortis Device Manager Switch Network Management Software Update: Now With Terrain Maps

expo electronica

The new version of the TFortis Device Manager 3.1 application simplifies the work of those who install and maintain large IP video surveillance networks.

The software allows you to deploy a TFortis switch management network using terrain maps, where you can place switches at their actual locations and monitor their status. Users can also update the firmware of TFortis switches via the application, enable or disable ports and PoE, configure an SNTP server, and enable SNMP and LLDP protocols for several devices at once. It is important to note that TFortis Device Manager 3.1 has improved performance, optimized updating of the event table on the monitoring screen, and other useful changes and fixes. The software implements such practical features as sending event notifications to e-mail or Telegram.

The TFortis Device Manager application is designed to manage a switch network within an IP video surveillance system. Despite the fact that this application is free for users, its functionality allows you to deploy a fully functional switch management network . Moreover, through the application interface, you can work not only with managed TFortis PSW/SWU series switches, but also with TELEPORT dry contact translators. The capabilities of TFortis Device Manager allow you to search and configure network equipment automatically or by a specified range, monitor its status, perform notifications using the Telegram service and Email messages, generate reports, etc.

The main addition of TFortis Device Manager version 3.1 is the support of terrain maps with the ability to place switch markers at their actual locations. The map showing the switch management network is automatically saved when the application is closed and restored when the application is opened, and allows you to monitor the status of network equipment (online/offline) and other important parameters and properties. The TFortis Device Manager application provides information on the status of the optical tamper sensor (for PSW-2G+, PSW-2G6F+ and PSW2G8F+ switches), dry contact inputs (Sensor 1 and Sensor 2) and links on the port, power mode (230 V or built-in UPS), as well as device descriptions and locations.

The convenience of managing the switch network in the TFortis Device Manager 3.1 application has been improved by placing the main settings on ergonomic tabs. In particular, the new version of the application has the ability to activate SNMP and LLDP protocols for several devices in the network at the same time with one click. In addition, now in a couple of "clicks" you can enable ports and PoE switch and/or configure the SNTP server, as well as select devices to display in monitoring. For the first time, the TFortis Device Manager application has become available for updating the firmware of TFortis switches, which was previously only possible in the browser.

The updates to version 3.1 are based on the wishes of users of the TFortis Device Manager software application for managing network switches. The innovations are aimed at providing the ability to quickly connect, configure, monitor equipment, promptly respond to failures in the operation of video surveillance cameras and do all this as remotely as possible.
