SystemeVar Hertz Series: Frequency Converters Of System Electric's Own Design For The Russian HVAC Market

expo electronica

SystemeVar Hertz frequency converters are presented, developed by Systeme Electric in cooperation with Delixi Electric from scratch specifically for the Russian market.

They comply with the requirements of GOST R 53325-2012 and are intended for use in cooling, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, as well as in fire extinguishing systems. The Hertz series includes frequency converters with one of two supply voltage options (1P 220 V or 3P 380 V) and a power range from 0.4 to 30 kW. The new products have a compact design ("book" design), a protective coating of class 3C2 boards, a built-in EMC filter of class C3 and support a fire mode with a function for monitoring the integrity of the engine line. Free SystemeVAR Tool software is provided for commissioning and diagnostics of the devices. The manufacturer provides a 3-year warranty for all Hertz models.

The SystemeVar Hertz series includes 15 models of compact frequency converters with a "book" design and differing in a combination of parameters such as supported input voltage (1P 220-240 V or 3P 380-440 V), rated power of the serviced electric motor (0.4-2.2 kW for 1P devices, 0.75-30 kW for 3P equipment) and the physical dimensions of the device body itself. This allows you to select frequency converters of the Hertz series for any application in HVAC. To save space when creating ultra-compact solutions, frequency converters with a power of up to 7.5 kW inclusive can be installed on a DIN rail close to each other without deterioration of the nominal characteristics, and for more powerful devices (from 11 kW and above), it is necessary to maintain a gap of 50 mm.

The combination of quality, technical characteristics and price can be attributed to the competitive advantages of SystemeVar Hertz frequency converters that are unique for the Russian market. All models of the series in the basic version use printed circuit boards with class 3C2 coating to increase their service life and the ability to work in damp rooms, are supplied with a built-in EMC filter of class C3 to reduce high-frequency feedback on the network, provide high overload capacity and operate stably in a wide temperature range - from -20 to +50 °C (up to +40 °C without deterioration of characteristics). Also, the Hertz series frequency converters have protection against freezing/condensation and abnormal loads, a pump cleaning function, "catch-on-the-fly" and automatic restart of fans, 4 sets of acceleration/braking ramps and other solutions for optimizing work processes.

The high energy efficiency of the SystemeVar Hertz devices is achieved by using a PID (proportional-integral-differentiative) controller with a sleep mode in their design, which saves energy and reduces wear and noise, and is also suitable for pressure and temperature control. In addition, the Hertz series frequency converters support operation in ECO mode, which allows saving up to 40% of energy by changing the output voltage to minimize power consumption. The presence of a bypass, which ensures switching the motor between the frequency converter and the network, allows not only to extend the service life of the equipment, but also to increase the overall efficiency of the system.

Support of the fire mode with the function of monitoring the integrity of the motor line allows the use of the SystemeVar Hertz series frequency converters in fire extinguishing systems. Monitoring the integrity of the cable in three phases fully complies with the requirements of GOST R 53325-2012. In the ready state without the "START" command, the Hertz series frequency converters perform diagnostics of the motor cable, while the polling interval is adjusted in the range from 10 to 100 s. At the same time, the SystemeVar Hertz models support the standard fire mode, when activated, all faults that are not fatal are ignored, which allows the frequency converter to continue operating even if a motor phase is broken.

The readiness for operation "out of the box" of the SystemeVar Hertz frequency converters is confirmed by the manufacturer, and fine-tuning is performed using the free SystemeVAR Tool software product. This tool allows you to enter and copy parameters, debug and test run the converter (control panel mode), monitor the operating status, monitor terminal blocks (testing in simulation mode), diagnose and record faults. All Hertz series frequency converters are equipped with a built-in LED display with an ergonomic user interface and intuitive indication, which simplifies their commissioning and diagnostics. In addition, the frequency converters support the Modbus RTU protocol and are easily integrated into the existing control and automation system.
