Smartec's ST-PD062BDE-MC 2-Beam Active Security Detector Has Appeared On The Market
The new ST-PD062BDE-MC security detectors from Smartec are designed to register intrusion into a protected area and consist of a transmitter and receiver, the space between which is monitored by 2 IR beams.
The distance between the receiver and the transmitter in the line of sight can be up to 60 m outdoors and up to 120 m indoors, which allows using an active security detector to protect window openings, entrances and the perimeter. Using DIP switches on the device body, you can select 1 of 4 possible frequency channels and set the beam interruption time of 50–700 ms, after which an alarm signal will be generated.
Structurally, the ST-PD062BDE-MC is a two-position active motion sensor operating in the infrared range, which consists of two main components - a transmitter and a receiver. Its detection zone is formed by two narrow-beam IR beams, upon simultaneous interruption of which the active security detector gives an alarm signal. Based on the characteristics of the protected object and the installation location, the ST-PD062BDE-MC detector allows you to set the beam interruption time for transmitting an alarm signal to 50, 100, 300 or 700 ms, which is set using DIP switches located on the device body.
The dust- and moisture-proof housing of the ST-PD062BDE-MC model with IP65 does not require any additional protection of the detector for its correct operation in outdoor conditions. At the same time, in the basic configuration, the active security detector is capable of operating at external temperatures from -25С to +60С, and when using the ST-PD001BD-HC optical element heater (purchased separately) - from -40С. Due to the implementation of the algorithm of automatic adaptation to environmental conditions, this security detector has a high resistance to false alarms and functions smoothly during rain, snowfall and strong gusts of wind.
Support for four frequency channels allows using an active security detector in close proximity to other detectors without interfering with their operation. The operating frequency is selected using DIP switches, the main thing is that the receiver-transmitter pair operates on the same channel. If several such pairs are mounted on the same line or nearby, then it is necessary to set a frequency channel for each of them to prevent mutual influence of security detectors on each other. It is worth noting that to simplify configuration, the ST-PD062BDE-MC is equipped with LED indicators displaying the following values: power, alarm, presence of beams and brightness of the light beam.
The presence of a relay alarm output guarantees the compatibility of the ST-PD062BDE-MC with all types of alarm control units, and a wide range of supply voltage simplifies installation. Despite the fact that the receiver and transmitter housings are designed for wall mounting, the manufacturer has provided for their fastening to a pipe with a diameter of 37 to 55 mm using a U-shaped adapter included in the kit, as well as horizontal adjustment within ±90C and vertical adjustment by ±10C. The maximum distance between the receiver and transmitter can be 60 and 120 m when using the ST-PD062BDE-MC outdoors and indoors, respectively.
