Smartec Long-Range Reader Hits The Market At An Affordable Price

The range of Smartec equipment for access control systems has been expanded with ultra-high-frequency (UHF) readers ST-LR310.

The new products are based on a radio chip with improved signal filtering, have an operating frequency of 867.1 MHz and an identification range of 9 m, so they will be the best option for monitoring the passage of vehicles. These long-range readers are equipped with an antenna with circular polarization, a Wiegand 26/34 interface for use in various ACS, an RS-232 port for integration into applications, and a relay output for connecting external actuators.

This long-range reader is equipped with a highly sensitive omnidirectional antenna and identifies UHF transponders (cards and tags) at a frequency of 867.1 MHz. At the same time, the ST-LR310 model works with protected UHF identifiers of the ISO-18000-6C and ISO-18000-6B standards, the recognition of unique TID codes of which makes it possible to use the new long-range reader in systems with high security requirements.

The maximum reading distance of the ST-LR310 is 9 meters, which makes this long-range reader a convenient tool for identifying vehicles and/or drivers in closed area access control systems (e.g. parking) without having to get out of the car or even lower the window. At the same time, the range of this ultra-high-frequency reader can be reduced. The radio chip used in the ST-LR310 is an analogue of the M100, which guarantees high sensitivity of the device, noise immunity and reliability of recognition. To increase protection against false alarms, the UHF reader supports operation in the mode of checking the match of the transponder and reader passwords.

The Wiegand 26 or 34 interface (customer's choice) allows the ST-LR310 long-range reader to be used within any access control system that supports at least one of these formats. A three-wire bus is used to connect the reader, and transmission is carried out in short pulses and is initiated when an identifier is detected in the device's coverage area. In addition to the Wiegand output, the long-range reader is equipped with an RS232 interface, through which it can be integrated into various software applications and used, for example, in logistics to control the movement of goods, in agriculture to track animal movements, etc.

Outdoor design with dust/moisture resistance class IP65 and operating temperature range from -35 to +60 C ensure reliable operation of the reader in open areas without additional protection. At the same time, the long-range reader can be mounted on a pole using the included bracket, which allows you to adjust its tilt to optimize the area of ​​action. Separately, we note the presence of a relay output in the ST-LR310, to which you can connect external actuators and control them using user software or by a signal from identifiers with a specific code.
