The Smartec product line for access control systems now includes ST-PR042EHMK-BK multi-format readers, which support Em Marine and HID proximity cards (125 kHz) and Mifare smart cards (13.56 MHz) and are equipped with a 12-kpc coded keyboard
The novelty will be useful for those facilities that require a cost-effective but highly reliable identification solution, and where at least two of the technologies it supports are used. Thanks to the protection of electronics with a polymer compound, the Em Marin, HID and Mifare card reader remains operational in all weather conditions, and the durable metal casing provides it with high-quality protection from vandals.
A wide range of operating temperatures (from -40 to +60 °C) and a high degree of climate protection of the case (IP66) allow the ST-PR042EHMK-BK multi-format reader to be used both indoors and outdoors. Thanks to the filling of electronic components with a polymer compound, the Em Marin, HID, Mifare reader remains operational in all weather conditions, and the durable zinc alloy housing protects the device from mechanical damage (shocks), including accidental or intentional impacts. Additionally, the reader is equipped with a light and sound indication that simplifies visual control of its condition.
The "omnivorous" nature of the device – support for proximity cards (Em Marine and HID) and smart cards (Mifare) – ensures the compatibility of ST-PR042EHMK-BK with various access control systems. This Em Marin, HID, Mifare reader recognizes cards at a distance of 2-5 cm, which is optimal for access control systems in office buildings, warehouses, store offices, as well as for staff time tracking. With the help of a 12-key keypad, this model implements an additional method of identification by PIN code. Its metal design increases resistance to mechanical stress, making the reader optimal for places with an intense flow of people.
Working in access control systems with high security requirements is possible due to the ST-PR042EHMK-BK model's support for Mifare smart technology. In this case, two-way data exchange between the smart card and the reader is ensured, increased data transfer speed due to a high operating frequency (13.56 MHz) and a larger amount of stored data. To identify users at facilities with standard security requirements, it implements proximity technology (125 kHz). At the same time, the reader uses the Wiegand 26 output format for Em Marine cards, and Wiegand 34 and Wiegand 58 for Mifare cards. Along with this, ST-PR042EHMK-BK works with various identifiers from HID.
