New Universal Surface-Mounted Door Closer Smartec ST-DC014BCDA In Outdoor Design.
For the most convenient use of the door closer on doors with different weights and door leaf widths, the spring force can be adjusted in the range of 9-25 Nm (EN1-EN4), the door leaf closing speed, the braking setting in the opening phase over 80°, etc. It is worth noting that the ST-DC014BCDA is operational at ambient temperatures from -35 to +70 °C, and its body, made of silumin alloy, is not subject to corrosion.
Adjusting the spring force in the range of 9-26 Nm allows installing the ST-DC014BCDA closer on doors with a width of 750 to 1100 mm and a weight of 20 to 80 kg. With such characteristics, the surface-mounted closer meets several classes of the European standard EN1154 at once - from EN1 to EN4, and is suitable for both ordinary light interior doors and heavy exterior doors, including special-purpose ones. Moreover, this model provides a guaranteed mean time between failures of at least 1,000,000 opening/closing cycles, and reinforced rods increase the mechanical strength of the entire mechanism.
The presence of the "Back Check" (BC) function in the door closer - an opening brake - eliminates the abrupt opening of the door leaf under the influence of various external factors, including drafts, excessive force when opening the door, gusts of wind, etc. It slows down the door leaf in the range of opening angles from 80 ° to 180 ° if it moves too quickly. To implement this functionality, the overhead closer uses a hydraulic mechanism that increases the resistance of the leaf during rapid opening. This resistance is proportional to the speed of the door, so the planned opening will not be slowed down.
Additional convenience during operation of the ST-DC014BCDA model is provided by the so-called delayed closing function or "Delay Action" (DA). Thanks to it, over a large angular range, approximately from 180° to 70°, the closing of the door is significantly slowed down, which allows the door leaf to remain open for some time. An overhead closer with such a function makes it more comfortable to carry goods, pass groups of people, people with baby carriages or people with limited mobility. At the same time, after the end of the "delay", the time of which is regulated by a special screw on the closer body, the door begins to close at the usual speed.
The outdoor version of the door closer includes a silumin body, which is not subject to corrosion, and stable operation of the device is possible in the temperature range from -35° to +70° C. To control the process of closing the door leaf, the surface-mounted door closer uses a liquid (oil) shock absorber with thermal compensation. The speed of oil flow and, consequently, the speed of closing the leaf is regulated by two valves, which are supplied with the channels of the device. Opening/closing of these valves is carried out by means of special screws located on the body of the ST-DC014BCDA device.
