New Smartec ST-SC312E-WT Single Access Point Controller With EM Reader And Moisture-Proof Plastic Case

The Smartec line of devices for access control systems has been expanded with the ST-SC312E-WT programmable controller with a built-in EM Marine standard card reader, which is designed to organize one autonomous access point and can store up to 2000 identification cards in its memory.

For outdoor use, the EM controller has a protected plastic case with IP68, and for protection against unauthorized opening - a light-sensitive sensor based on a photoresistor. ST-SC312E-WT supports trigger or pulse mode of operation of the lock relay, and when choosing the latter, you can set the lock unlocking time.

The basic functionality of access control and management supported by ST-SC312E-WT allows implementing a budget autonomous ACS for one access point. Due to this, the EM controller is optimal for remote objects, such as warehouses, small branch offices, etc., which do not require control from the central office, but are designed to service up to 2000 users. A 12 V DC source is required to power the device, and a UPS is recommended to ensure uninterrupted operation of the access control system.

The outdoor version of the ST-SC312E-WT expands its application possibilities. This controller is supplied in a durable plastic case with IP68 dust/moisture protection, has a compound-protected electronic board and can operate smoothly in the temperature range from -40 to +60 ⁰С with humidity up to 90%. Due to such characteristics, the EM controller can be installed both indoors and at entrance doors, gates or wickets. To monitor the opening of the case, the EM controller is equipped with a sensor based on a photoresistor, and when an attempt is made to remove the device from the mounting base, it activates a light and sound alarm.

Programming of the ST-SC312E-WT reader-controller can be performed using the IR remote control or master card, which are included with the device. With their help, the EM controller allows you to update its database: you can add new and delete current codes of EM identification cards. Unlike the master card, the IR remote control has more functionality, since it allows you to delete codes of individual cards without their physical presence, including in case of loss. It is worth noting that the registration of new cards and the deletion of used cards can be performed either one by one or in groups in case of changing a large number of identifiers.

Implementation of various scenarios for passing through an access point equipped with ST-SC312E-WT is possible due to the controller's support of pulse and trigger modes of operation of the lock relay (optional). Thus, in the pulse mode of relay control, the lock will be unlocked for the time specified when configuring the controller, and if the relay is configured for the "trigger" mode, then the EM controller will wait for re-identification in the system to lock the unlocked door. Thus, the trigger mode allows you to keep the door unlocked for a long time, for example, during working hours.
