New Generation Of Ultra-Sensitive Cameras "EVS"

The EVS company presents a new frameless black-and-white camera VNI-853-H2.

Ultra-high sensitivity is achieved by automatically changing the matrix operating mode at night and a large light-sensitive pixel area. Quick replacement of camera software allows the customer to obtain the camera parameters required.

OOO EVS has developed and prepared for serial production a new frameless black-and-white camera VNI-853-H2 with increased sensitivity. This camera will replace all outdated modifications of the 753 and 754 series with CCD matrices. The new camera uses an improved 1/2'' CMOS matrix from SONY with increased sensitivity (with a global type of Pregius shutter).

Taking into account the many years of experience of EVS in the development and production of TV cameras, new circuit solutions and technologies were used, which made it possible to obtain high image quality and improve the technical and operational characteristics of the camera.

The VAI-853-H2 camera belongs to a new line of cameras with two types of night modes. Along with high-quality daytime surveillance, this camera allows for high sensitivity at night and allows for observation of objects in a wide range of illumination levels from 0.0001 to 100,000 lux without using the automatic lens diaphragm.

Like all television cameras manufactured by OOO EVS, the VNI-853-H2 model contains a four-stage automatic gain control (AGC) system, which, together with the automatic accumulation time control (ATC) system, allows the camera to operate confidently in a wide range of illumination of objects under observation. The original digital adaptive clarity corrector developed by EVS engineers improves image quality by compensating for loss of clarity in the lens and output cable, and the ability to operate in fog, rain and snowfall is provided by the automatic image contrast control system.

The VNI-853-H2 camera uses new service capabilities for operator convenience. In the center of the image, the camera can form a switchable technological crosshair (sight) with the ability to change its position with an accuracy of 1 pixel and save its position after power is turned off. A system for automatic suppression of single defective (hot) pixels has appeared. The camera is controlled using a single control button.

The photos below show examples of images with the crosshair enabled and the camera name displayed. The left image has a gamma correction of 0.7, the right one has a gamma correction of 0.45.

MAIN ADVANTAGES OF THE NEW CAMERA

// Progressive signal reading: This camera reads a full progressive image with a resolution of 752x582.
// Digital signal processing: FPGA chip with control processor provides digital processing of video signal.
// Automatic image contrast control system: provides the ability to increase contrast up to 5 times.
// Extended range of supply voltages: the camera ensures stable operation in the supply voltage range from +6V to 25V (limit values from +5.5V to 36V).
// Wide range of operating temperatures: the camera provides stable operation in a wide range of temperatures from +50C to +550C indoors and from -500C to +700C in the outdoor casing.
// Possibility of working without an ARD lens: the automatic exposure control system copes with illumination levels up to direct sunlight.
// Control of camera parameters with the button: gamma correction, titles, accumulation mode, electronic viewfinder and its correction. All set parameters can be saved in non-volatile memory.
// Quick replacement of camera software in short terms: to set camera parameters required by the customer.

In the future, it is planned to introduce a camera control system via the RS485 interface with the ability to control a large number of camera parameters, manual gain and exposure adjustment, gamma correction adjustment equal to 1, contrast switching off, and the ability to input progressive images into a computer. It is possible to produce a camera with an external synchronization mode.

The EVS company continues to work on creating and improving its products and services in order to always meet the demands of the modern security market.
