Infomatika, a company specializing in the development of high-tech access control equipment and ticketing systems, has signed an offset contract with the Moscow Government for the supply of more than 4.5 thousand new turnstiles for the Moscow Metro, Moscow Central Circle and Moscow Central Diameters.
The new generation of turnstiles will appear in the capital's metro this year. They will be equipped with the most modern payment systems, including biometric ones. In addition, they will have light indication of the payment status, vibration feedback for the visually impaired, the ability to pass from both sides and convenient validation zones for digital payment methods. Thanks to the improved design, the new devices will increase the capacity of metro stations by up to 40%. These innovations have not been used anywhere in the world before and may become an industry standard in the future and a calling card of the technology of Moscow transport.
The developer and supplier of unique equipment is the Kazan company Infomatika. The company's solutions have been successfully used for many years at transport infrastructure facilities throughout the country. Smart turnstiles and terminals for replenishing transport cards are installed in the subways of Kazan, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and Moscow. In the capital, for example, innovative fare payment turnstiles have been successfully operating for more than two years at the berths of river electric transport. All access control devices are distinguished by a modern design, thoughtful ergonomics and accept all methods of payment for travel - from classic to the most innovative.
Many of the largest sports facilities from Kaliningrad to Vladivostok are equipped with Infomatika ticketing and access systems, and self-service terminals are used daily by millions of citizens in MFCs and medical institutions.
"The decision to conclude an offset contract for the supply of new turnstiles was made by Sergei Sobyanin. According to the agreement, more than 4.5 thousand new turnstiles will appear at metro stations, the Moscow Central Circle and the Moscow Central Diameters by 2031. They will increase the capacity of the stations by 40 percent. The new turnstiles are not only a modern design, but also technologies that speed up passage and make it more comfortable for everyone, including passengers with limited mobility ," said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
Infomatika will become a new resident of the special economic zone (SEZ) Technopolis Moscow. At the Alabushevo site, the company will build a plant with an area of 6.9 thousand square meters for large-scale production of innovative turnstiles and turnstile equipment. The launch of production is scheduled for the second quarter of 2027.
The turnstile equipment that will be manufactured at the plant is the company's own development. According to David Tartakovsky, General Director of Infomatika, the company highly values cooperation with the Moscow Government and the trust placed in it. The proposed support measures are truly effective and help implement investment projects in difficult economic conditions. The emergence of a full-cycle plant in the Technopolis Moscow SEZ will allow us to bring product quality to a new level and increase the speed of product release.
Infomatika has been present on the IT market since 1996 and is one of the leading Russian developers and manufacturers of interactive equipment, ticketing systems, public transport fare control systems and other solutions. It has its own design bureau and production complex in Kazan. Infomatika technologies were used at the stadiums of the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and 2022 in Qatar.
In 2023, the MTS Artificial Intelligence Center LLC (MTS AI) became the company's strategic partner.
