Budget Electric NC Latch ST-SL361NC With Long-Term Unlocking Function

expo electronica

ARMO-Systems presented symmetrical electric strikes ST-SL361NC by Smartec.

Symmetrical electric strikes ST-SL361NC by Smartec are normally closed type with a holding force of 4000 N, they are suitable for doors opening both to the right and to the left, and can be installed vertically or horizontally. The new product is designed to lock and unlock mechanical locks under the control of an access control system. ST-SL361NC allows you to unlock a door that is subject to a counterload of up to 90 N, has an adjustable tongue, supports the function of long-term electronic unlocking, and is also equipped with a lever for mechanically unlocking the door for an unlimited time.

With the help of ST-SL361NC, it is possible to organize electronic control of door locking at any facility where mechanical locks with a beveled bolt are installed, since this electric latch is cut into the door frame instead of the counter part of the lock. If there is no mechanical lock on the door, the electric latch can be used together with one of the counter parts produced by Smartec, and if necessary, the latch can be retrofitted with a short or long ST-SLxxxSP series locking plate made of stainless or painted steel. Due to the wide range of operating temperatures, from -15 to +60 С, ST-SL361NC is operational both in heated and unheated rooms.

The symmetrical design of the latch allows it to be mounted instead of the mating part of the lock in the classic vertical and horizontal position, while the direction of opening of the door leaf (right or left) does not matter for the operation of the ST-SL361NC. The electric latch can receive supply voltage from a source of direct or alternating current 12/24 V, respectively, while it consumes 300-600 mA in the unlocked state, depending on the connection. Having a holding force of 4000 N, the ST-SL361NC also works correctly on a door that is subject to a counterload of up to 90 N.

The ST-SL361NC latch is controlled within the access control system via the ACS controller and/or via the exit request button using a special cable. Since this electric latch belongs to the class of normally closed (NC) devices, it holds the lock in the "closed" state when there is no power supply, and unlocks it when power is supplied. It should be borne in mind that door locks when working with NC-type electric latches must be equipped with internal cam handles that allow the door to be opened from the inside in the event of a sudden power outage.

The possibility of long-term unlocking of the ST-SL361NC electric strike when powered by a 12 V DC source is used to organize free access to the premises, for example, during hours intended for visiting without passes or for transporting goods. In the event of an emergency or regular absence of power supply at the facility for a long time, the electric strike also provides for mechanical unlocking using a special lever, which allows you to fix its tongue for any period of time so that the door is in an unlocked state.
