ARMO-Systems Presented The Smartec ST-PS108BNS-WT Built-In Power Supply Unit For 12 V / 8 A

expo electronica

Smartec has added the ST-PS108BNS-WT built-in power supply to its range.

The ST-PS108BNS-WT power supply unit is designed to convert electricity from a 190–260 V / 50 Hz network into 12 V DC and power devices for video surveillance systems, access control, security/fire alarms or other equipment. The ST-PS108BNS-WT is equipped with a voltage stabilizer and has short-circuit and overload protection. For autonomous operation in the absence of voltage in the general network, the stabilized power supply unit switches to operation from the battery (AKB), while providing battery protection from deep discharge, overcharge and reverse polarity when connected.

The ST-PS108BNS-WT is designed for installation in a mounting box together with a battery and is mounted on a TS35/7.5 or TS35/15 DIN rail. For ease of monitoring, this built-in power supply is equipped with LED indicators: a red LED indicates the status of the 220 V line, a green one indicates the 12 V line, and a yellow one indicates the battery. The new power supply is ideal for supplying electricity to a small or medium-sized security system, including access control, fire alarms, and video surveillance, and at large facilities it can be used to organize the power supply of individual system segments.

The power supply automatically switches to battery operation when there is no voltage or voltage drop in the power grid. The ST-PS108BNS-WT is compatible with both acid and gel batteries, and provides protection for the battery used from reverse polarity when connected, as well as from deep discharge and overcharge. The built-in power supply itself has overload and short circuit protection, disconnecting from the load, for example, in the event of a mechanical short circuit of wires due to insulation failure or failure of the equipment connected to it, which allows maintaining the operability of the device in the future.

The stabilizer built into the ST-PS108BNS-WT compensates for changes in the input voltage from the power grid in the range of ±10% — from 190 V to 260 V, and maintains the nominal voltage at the output of the power supply. Due to this, the built-in power supply has an output current of 8 A (short-term 8.8 A) with a stable voltage of 13–13.8 V DC when operating from the network or 10–12 V DC from the battery. Using a stabilizer in the power supply also eliminates the failure of security system equipment associated with voltage surges in the network and provides it with a stable voltage necessary for operation.

The basic functionality of the ST-PS108BNS-WT power supply unit can be expanded by using additional modules from the Smartec product range. For example, using the ST-PS104FB and ST-PS108FB modules, the built-in power supply unit can be supplemented with 4 and 8 output channels with individual fuses, respectively. The ST-PS100RB and ST-PS104FBR modules add relay outputs for monitoring the 220 V line and battery status to the power supply unit, and the ST-PS104FBR, along with the monitoring option, has 4 output channels with individual fuses.
