ARMO-Systems Presented the Smartec ST-PD103BDE-MC Linear Security Detector with a Range of Up to 200 Meters
The range of Smartec devices for security alarm systems has been expanded with the compact ST-PD103BDE-MC linear detector, which consists of a receiver and a transmitter that form a protective barrier of 3 IR beams and is used to protect the perimeter, window and door openings, as well as shop windows, etc.
This linear security detector can be installed both indoors and outdoors, thanks to its IP65 casing, automatic adaptation algorithm and wide range of operating temperatures. The possible distance of the receiver from the transmitter depends on environmental conditions and can reach 100 meters outdoors and 200 meters indoors.
Resistance to adverse weather conditions makes the ST-PD103BDE-MC detector an optimal choice for outdoor installation. It can operate at temperatures from -25C to +60C, and the use of the optional ST-PD001BD-HC optical element heater allows you to lower the lower operating limit to -40C. For reliable protection from precipitation, the linear security detector has a dust- and moisture-proof housing with IP65. Thanks to the algorithm of automatic adaptation to environmental conditions, the ST-PD103BDE-MC security detector provides high resistance to false alarms and functions smoothly in rain, snow and strong gusts of wind.
A fairly narrow intrusion detection zone formed by 3 infrared (IR) beams allows the ST-PD103BDE-MC linear detector to be used for perimeter protection of various objects. For example, in the private sector, a linear security detector can be used to protect buildings along the perimeter, as well as individual windows and doors. In the commercial sector, a linear security detector can be used to protect warehouses, logistics centers, industrial enterprises and infrastructure facilities (substations, pipelines, etc.). The ST-PD103BDE-MC's maximum intrusion detection range is 100 m outdoors and 200 m indoors.
The detector's adaptation to various operating conditions is ensured by a programmable beam interruption time, which is adjusted in the range of 50–700 ms, as well as by the choice of frequency channel. The ST-PD103BDE-MC linear security detector supports operation on one of four frequency channels, which are adjusted using a switch on the device body. For correct operation, it is necessary that each receiver-transmitter pair operate on one channel, and if several such pairs are mounted on one line or in close proximity, it is necessary to set their own frequency channel for each of them to prevent mutual influence of the detectors on each other.
The ST-PD103BDE-MC can be included in any alarm system due to the presence of a relay alarm output, which guarantees compatibility with all types of control and monitoring devices, and a wide range of supply voltage simplifies installation of the device. Due to the compact dimensions of the case, the linear security detector can be placed on a wall or fence so that it is invisible to strangers, and the device kit includes U-shaped adapters for mounting on a pipe. Simplified programming using DIP switches and the ability to adjust horizontally by ±90 ° and vertically by ±10 ° make working with the ST-PD103BDE-MC intuitive.
